Who are we?
IslandRider Motorcycle Training Ltd. is the name of the Vancouver Island motorcycle training program under Urban Rider Motorcycle School Ltd – an ICBC licensed motorcycle school running an approved curriculum and authorized to conduct MSA (MST) testing.
John Buddo is the founder, co-owner, and lead instructor. With over a decade of full-time experience as a certified motorcycle instructor, John combines extensive practical riding skills with a deep understanding of motorcycle safety, technique, and roadcraft. His passion for motorcycling is matched only by his commitment to teaching students the skills and knowledge required to become confident, responsible, and safe riders.
Before launching Urban Rider, John successfully managed another motorcycle school, ProRide, gaining valuable insights into curriculum development, student engagement, and effective training methodologies.
John’s expertise extends beyond basic rider training. He specializes in advanced motorcycle skills, defensive riding strategies, and instructor training programs, ensuring that every student receives instruction grounded in the latest safety standards and riding techniques. A firm believer in continuous improvement, John actively seeks student feedback and remains engaged with evolving best practices in motorcycle training.
In addition to his instructional roles, John also serves as an expert in legal cases involving motorcycle accidents.
